efficient design yet conceived as applied to a self bow or abacked self bow. That is the author's opinion at least.

The length of this bow is 5 feet 6 inches, about midwaybetween the long bow and the flat bow. This does not undulycrowd the release fingers and permits a clean release. Thelong bow when fully drawn scribes the arcs of two circlesjoined at the grip while the modified flat bow scribes the arcsof parabolas.

The long bow was not heavy enough in the handle section.Many of them tended to bend somewhat at this point. It wasfound that the handle or grip zone had to be heavy enoughto prevent any suggestion of movement when in action. This
