ing length. Therefore, when the arrow leaves the bow, it doesso with this added velocity.

In shooting at the shorter ranges from 60 yards on down, the reflex bow does not add to the score. But, when the archershoots at 100 yards, this added velocity is to be desired. Ifthe design of the reflex is properly done and the work prop-erly executed, it does add to the cast. On the other hand, ifdesign and workmanship are not properly done, the bow isprobably not as good as a straight one.

Flight Bows

The flight bow has been called the archer's luxury. Flightbows are very difficult to make and require the very finestmaterials, all of which make them expensive. Their lives areshort. They are made for one purpose only, to shoot an arrowthe longest possible distance. They are designed to get thelast drachm of energy out of the material; every fibre isstrained to the very verge of its limit. Special flight arrowshave been shot over 600 yards!
