Metal Bows
Since the days of the organization of the United Bowmenof Philadelphia in 1828, men have tried to make bows fromsteel. Until rather recently, they have not proven satisfactory, the only successful design being of a tapered tubular con-struction. It has the advantage of not being affected by tem-perature or humidity. It has a good cast and has proved to bea stable weapon. It is a reflexed bow.
