Archery Tackle : Page 75

A descendant of the discoverer of the port, the presentDuke of Orford, had visited the spot earlier that year. Wewere sorry that we missed him.

The ocean, at this place, is very impressive; outside of afew large rocks which lie close to shore, the water is an un-broken expanse westward for seven thousand miles. We weregreatly impressed as we watched the surf roll in—water that iscrystal clear, very much unlike the brackish looking surf ofthe East Coast. A mountain stream feeds some fresh waterlakes that are on this place in which one can catch sevenspecies of trout. I would like to visit that spot again, just torelax and rest; to wield the magic wand over those fresh waterlakes and to watch the surf roll in and back again.
