tion of this sketch represents the track made by the forefoot.It will be noted that the forefeet are larger than the hindfeet. Note the sharp points of the toes and the slender, stream-lined contour of these tracks. A deer can do a lot of damagewith their front feet; they can cut a snake to ribbons in shortorder. If you are ever lucky enough to get a deer down, donot get within reach of his feet until you are certain he isdead; many a hunter has received some nasty wounds by notobserving this rule.
