How To Shoot : Page 101

He looked at the target again, straightened his shouldersand inhaled deeply. He lifted both arms upward until thearrow was level with the target and the bow was in a perpen-dicular position. The left arm was extended forward with theelbow pointing to the left. The left shoulder was down. Theleft hand loosely held the bow. The right elbow was elevatedso that the forearm and hand were in direct line with thearrow. With a combination of biceps, shoulder, and backmuscles, he seemed to stretch thus pulling the string with thearrow backward to the region of the throat. The right handstraightened out; the only parts of the hand that were notstraight were the last joints of the drawing fingers. The righthand came to rest at the throat where it was snugly anchoredwith the jaw bone resting on the forefinger and the bowstringtouching the chin near its center. The string may have, also, touched the end of his nose.
