BEGINNERS PREPARATIONS
To the person who has never shot bow, it would be best tobuy an ordinary lemonwood bow. If the potential archer is amature man of average strength, a bow of 30 to not over 35lbs. is recommended. Ladies should select a bow of 20 to notover 25 lbs. for their first bows. It is recognized that thesebeginners are capable of pulling bows very much strongerthan these recommendations. One of the very first things thetyro should do is to forget all about how strong he or she is.This is not a contest of great strength; it is learning the fineart of shooting. The beginner should be complete master ofthe bow. As a matter of fact the bow should not be heavyenough to even take his mind off the many things he mustremember and do.
