In order to remedy this uncertainty of launch position,someone came up with the arrow rest. It is a simple device inthe form of a small shelf that is attached to or built into theleft side of the bow handle at the upper edge of the grip.Instead of the arrow passing over the bow hand, it passes overthe arrow rest. With this improvement, arrows pass the bowat exactly the same place. See pig. 30.
