The distance from the eye to the anchor is the elevationof the rear sight, as the anchor is actually the rear sight. Itis obvious that the arrow should be drawn to the exact sameplace of anchor as any perpendicular deviation of this anchorwill show up on the target. In order to insure a more constantdistance of that elevation, some archers wrap a small slidingknot on the string with black thread so that the eye is linedup with this marker. This makes the rear sighting quiteaccurate. (Refer back to Fig. 31.)

Aiming

With the bow hand properly placed, the left arm extendedto a point of rigidity, the drawing hand at anchor and thearrow drawn until the end of the pile is even with the backof the bow, we are now ready to concentrate on aiming.
