We might compare this to throwing a stone; one cannotuse any mechanical aids in aiming a stone. It is done by a"sixth sense" or feel which is brought about by practice; acoordination of eye, mind, muscle and timing. So, in shootingby instinct, the archer is governed by the same principle. Hedoes, however, have the advantage of seeing that the arrowis lined up with the target. As to elevation, this is somethingthat comes to the archer through practice. In using this formof aiming one should concentrate on the target, look at thetarget only. The eye will see the bow, the bow hand and mostof the arrow by indirect vision, not in the sharp outline, butwell enough to keep the arrow pointing toward the target.Instinctive shooting is perfected only by target concentrationand practice. By all means do not neglect this style of shoot-ing as you progress.
