Many hunters who shoot instinctively use an anchor higheron the face than the chin; this is usually somewhere in theregion of the mouth. If one is to do field shooting only andelects to shoot instinctively only, he may well cultivate andperfect an anchor that is nearer the eye. However, since goodshooting is the result of doing everything exactly the sameway at all times, it follows that the higher anchor must be aconstant station which will not allow for any deviation of thedistance between this anchor and the eye or permit any de-viation in the length of the draw.
Point of aim shooting simplifies a complicated problem ofangles and trajectories. One does not aim at the target whenshooting point of aim; one aims at some object below or abovethe target which has been predetermined according to thedistance one is from the target.
