The bowsight has won many converts during the lastdecade. It predominates in the Eastern part of the UnitedStates and is growing in popularity in the West. Whetherit is better than the point of aim or not is a question of muchdebate. Record scores have been made by both methods. Ithas, however, one point of superiority on which all agree;it is a lot more convenient to use.
We will now get back to the process of aiming. Whateverform of aiming you are using, the crucial thing at this stageis concentration and holding. The sight must be steadied onthe gold or the arrow point steadied on the point of aim. There must be no creeping forward of the arrow, no relaxingof the bow arm, and no shifting of the anchor until the looseis made. The bow should be perpendicular in position. Thestring must be almost in front of the eye; the eye should havea clear view either to the right or left of the string dependingon which position seems best to you.
