There are three kinds of targets on the market. One is madefrom rye straw, wound and sewed. Another is made fromwhat is known as Johnson grass; this is also wound and sewed.The third is made from compressed straw, covered with clothand quilted something like a cheap mattress. This quiltedtarget is of little value and, if one expects to do quite a lotof shooting, one would do well not to give it consideration.

The wound and sewed rye straw target is the best of thethree types; it will stand up longer under hard usage, thanany other kind. These are made in two weights, standard andtournament. The tournament target is quite a husky product,
