The author has been fortunate in getting opinions andexperiences of some successful hunters. Two of these havecontributed to this work.

Roy I. Case, a nationally known hunter of Racine, Wis-consin, has contributed a chapter that tells how bow huntersgo about taking deer in the pine and lake countries of Mich-igan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

Jim Ramsey of Lincoln, New Mexico, has contributed achapter on how the job is done in the Southwest. Jim is anexcellent writer and a very successful hunter. He knows hisway around.

The writer, with the help of many friends, will attempt totell how to go about the business of hunting deer in the moun-tains of Pennsylvania, New York and West Virginia. Exactlythe same principles apply to the entire Appalachian chain.
