In analyzing this table, one sees the futility of shooting at arunning deer at distances greater than 20 yards. While thenecessary lead on bouncing deer is not excessive up to 40yards, it would be difficult to hit because the deer will be 8 feetin the air at one second and on the ground at the next. Inorder to score a hit, the best thing to do would be to try toconnect as the deer hits the ground—a difficult shot for anarcher. One can risk a 50 yard shot on a trotting deer withreasonable expectation of scoring. Walking deer do not pre-sent difficult targets; a good archer should be able to makeregular hits.
