Now, when John shot at the trotting deer in the orchard,we find that he should have led it 10.3 feet whereas, if he hadbeen using a 30/30 rifle, the lead would have been only 8.62inches. Any condition shown in the above table should be aneasy shot for an experienced rifleman; with the bow, over halfof these conditions is impossible. To add to the bowman'swoes, there is the element of arrow deflection caused bystriking twigs or boughs. The bullet will plow through theseobstacles unaffected.
