Sure, archers fall off their stools just at the crucial moment, and some archers just can't shoot sitting down. I really seldomshoot from my stool. I sneak one foot back of the stool and getthe knee on the ground when I am expecting to get a shot. When I make my draw I put my weight on that knee and I am

in standard kneeling position with very little discernablemovement.

My favorite blind material is hazel brush and "ferns"known as bracken, both so common in Wisconsin. The brush, cut about 3 l/2 in. high, is stuck in the ground in front of thearcher, if it isn't already right where you need it. The fernsare cut too (not pulled) to avoid noise and probable cuts onhands, for the stems are tough and sometimes have sharpedges. These ferns, dry and brown by early October, aredraped carefully on the interlacing branches of the bushes.Other brush will do to hold the ferns, or any small windfallentree or tree top perhaps right where you need it, and ready foronly a few ferns to be your blind.
