One must learn how to walk quietly when hunting;ball of the foot first then ease down the heel with toespointing slightly inward.

One must learn how to be silent; avoid talking, cough-ing or making any other unnatural sound when watch-ing or on the move.

One must learn the art of being still when on thewatch.

One must learn the science and art of stalking.

One must know how to hide and stay hidden froma deer.

One must know the proper clothing to wear; this willvary with the weather. The shoes should be withoutheels and have soles of rubber or soft leather.

One must learn to be patient—leave the nerves athome.
